Caroga Lake is a small town of about 1500 residents, located in upstate New York in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. You have your choice of lakes for boating, swimming, canoeing and fishing. You will also find countless mountains for hiking, streams for fishing and woods for hunting in Caroga Lake. Caroga Lake also has a municipal golf course for the golfer, and a ski mountain for skiers and snowboarders of any age.

NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Caroga on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 7 pm at the Town Hall, 1840 State Highway 10 Caroga Lake NY on proposed Local Law #2 of the Year 2014 is Entitled “A Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law 3-c,” Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Caroga, County of Fulton as follows:
It is the intent of this local law to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Caroga pursuant to General Municipal Law § 3-c, and to allow the Town of Caroga to adopt a budget for the fiscal year 2015 that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the “tax levy limit” as defined by General Municipal Law § 3-c.

A few years ago The Nick Stoner Seniors  created a Lending Library at Town Hall.  With the Help of Linda Stevens we are expanding to include children’s books. If you have children’s books you would like to donate just drop them off at town hall.  Everyone is welcome to take a book or two home or to donate books for others to enjoy.     


The parking of Vehicles is prohibited on  all Town & County Streets & Highways during the period of Nov. 1 – April 30th per Local Law #1 – 1991 Per Highway Superintendent Steve Putman


The Town has openings on the Board of Assessment Review and the Planning Board.  The planning board meets the first Wednesday of the month.  The Board of Assessment Review holds meeting in May during the Grievance process of Assessments.  For more information contact Linda Gilbert Town Clerk @ 835-4211 ext.21


The Town Clerk’s office has Mosquito Dunks available for FREE in her office.  The person picking up the 6 pack of Dunks will be given a form to fill out and instructions on use.
