History
The town of Caroga was formed in 1842. Soon
after the town was formed, mills and tanneries
moved into the area creating many jobs.
Loggers from all over moved in to harvest logs
for the mills. Roads were developed to get
around the town, and then eventually expanded
to get back and forth to Gloversville.
